Name of the Lord be praised
My sister Mei Ling has always put her trust in the sovereign will of her faithful and loving God. Like Job in the Old Testament, in times of loss and pain, her response has been: "The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." Lee Loun Ling

Why these Prayers?
I praise and thank Almighty God for the distribution of these prayers. To pray for oneself when struck and weakened by diseases is not easy. The prayers in this website (from Helping the Sick to Pray) attempt to provide starters for the ill to seek God and to talk with Him. They are intended to help as meditative or contemplative prayers. They follow the state of mind or moods often encountered by those downed by illnesses. I have been more than blessed for spending time with God. The joy is tremendous because from petitioning and speaking, I have moved to listening, waiting, groaning and not saying a thing but simply enjoying the presence of God. This collection of prayers is the result of my commitment to help others who are suffering in anxiety, pain and depression during illnesses and periods of treatment. I am eternally grateful to my Lord Jesus, the risen Christ for the opportunity to serve Him by assisting the sick and infirm to communicate with their Maker. The experience has been rewarding to my own soul. I thank God for my husband Lawrence Sieh Siao Fung, a quiet servant of God, who has been my morning prayer partner. My sister Loun Ling’s titling of each prayer, all in one afternoon, must be recorded. My appreciation also goes to all those who assisted in the book production, especially Mrs.Janet Yap. Errors, if any, are entirely mine. Praise the Lord, for great is his love...and his faithfulness endures forever.
