It is the proportion of fat tissue in your body that determines your ideal weight.
To measure the body fat, skinfold callipers are used to assess the thickness of the adipose tissue occurs in subcutaneous areas in certain parts of the body.
For adult men, three areas - chest, abdomen and thigh are selected to measure the thickness of the adipose tissue while for women, triceps, thigh and supra-iliac are selected instead.

Once your percent of body fat has been found out, your ideal body weight can be determined as follows:

Your fat weight = Your body weight x Percent of body fat

Fat-free weight = Your total weight - Your fat weight

Goal for fat-free mass = 100% - Percent of fat goal yo want to achieve

Body weight goal = Fat-free weight/Goal for fat-free mass

Weight loss goal = Current weight - Body weight goal
